Protective clothing that actually protects is such a novel idea.

I featured the first three panels waaay back, but the broader context makes it even better!

I’m still an atheist but I think if I were a Christian, I’d be counting my blessings right now.

I went bracelet shopping at Pandora with a director at my job whom I really admire and I asked her to be my mentor. And she said yes! I feel like she has so much to offer me in terms of advice and perspective. She’s a successful woman of color in an industry that heavily favors men. So I’m excited to get to know her better and really break into finance with her guidance.

I also got some amazing real-time feedback from a manager and senior associate that I support. Their group is really demanding at times and I always think I’m underperforming. But I think I’m building a great rapport with the senior associate and I’ve built that trust with other projects that I’ve done for her in the past. So hopefully this means that there will be more associate-level work coming my way in the future.

AND I was asked to participate in a google hangout with Edan Lepucki on goodreads since I just finished reading her book, California, a couple of weeks ago. I have to prepare some original questions and request a room for an hour at my office. I’m also thinking of bringing it up to my book club at work tomorrow and see if they want to join me and watch. I feel like it would be a great way to get to know more people in the club since I’m the newest member.

This has to be the best day I’ve had in a long time. And it came at just the right moment. I was a little down in the dumps yesterday over some really stupid stuff. But I think we could all use a good cry once in a while because I came into the office today, determined to get the most out of my position. And it worked.

Oh. My heart. Sherlock helped him get to the point where he could stand up and say that he is someone. He is a very competent someone. And just….We all know that John made Sherlock a better , happier person. It’s so lovely to be reminded that Sherlock made John a better, happier person too.

"Why do you have to spend all your money on video games?"

because I am interested in them, they are a hobby, they are just as much a form of media as books and television, and most importantly: playing them makes me happy

Say what you want about Donna but to me, she was incredibly insightful, and I still think she was the smartest companion.
